Apollo 11
Past mission · first crewed Moon landing
Apollo 11 carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the Moon in July 1969. Armstrong and Aldrin landed while Collins remained in lunar orbit.
A journey in three stages
The crew traveled together to lunar orbit. Armstrong and Aldrin then descended in the lunar module, explored the surface and returned to rendezvous with Collins before the trip home.
History, rather than a current orbit
Apollo 11 is a completed mission. It has no current spacecraft position on this tracker. NASA’s mission archive documents the flight and its scientific and historical importance.
