What the counter means
The U.S. Treasury reports monthly federal outlays. This counter applies the average daily pace from the latest available fiscal-year data to the current fiscal year. It illustrates a pace; it does not claim to show payments happening live.
The connected boards distinguish who administers awards, which businesses receive contracts, which recipients receive grants, and where award work is recorded. Do not add their totals: the same award can appear in several views, and award obligations differ from Treasury outlays.
