Source, coverage & calculation
Source: Social Security Administration, OASDI Beneficiaries by State and County, 2025 · Table 3. Released August 2026; retrieved 2026-10-23. The figures describe benefits in current-payment status for December 2025. The source is published annually. Estimated pace equals the monthly amount divided by 31 days, then multiplied by elapsed seconds in the selected UTC day, week, month or year. This uniform pace does not follow actual scheduled benefit deposits and does not predict changes in eligibility or benefit levels. Estimates expire January 1, 2027 pending a verified source refresh. Reported period shows the unchanged December 2025 monthly amount. Pause and reduced-motion controls apply to the counters.
Amounts are converted from thousands of dollars to dollars. Retirement combines retired workers, spouses and children; survivors combines widow(er)s, parents and children; disability combines disabled workers, spouses and children. Components can differ from the published total by a few thousand dollars because of rounding.
Geography follows beneficiary residence. Coverage is the 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Virgin Islands breakdown is nested under its territory to avoid double counting. Foreign countries and unknown addresses are excluded from the ranked totals. OASDI covers retirement, survivors and disability insurance. This table excludes Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and program administration, so it does not reconcile to the broader Treasury spending counter. December payments are not an annual total or a current live feed.

Spending and debt answer different questions. This page shows spending within one federal budget function. The national debt is the accumulated outstanding balance of federal borrowing, not a sum of these category counters.
Source, calculation & original data
Source: U.S. Treasury, Monthly Treasury Statement, Table 9. Retrieved 2026-10-26. Reported total: $1,667,097,265,194.
Rate = reported amount ÷ 31,536,000 seconds in the reporting period. Estimated ranges apply this historical average to elapsed seconds since midnight today, Monday, the first of the month, or January 1 (UTC). These are modeled totals, not measured weekly, monthly or calendar-year outlays. The reported-period view shows the original published total. Estimates stop 45 days after the reporting period ends. Negative net outlays remain static.
Funds approved by law and actual outlays differ in timing and scope. This page does not claim to show a new congressional appropriation.
