How these numbers work
FY2025 actual outlays from OMB’s FY2027 Public Budget Database. Values in thousands of dollars are multiplied by 1,000. Records are filtered by budget subfunction, then summed by agency, bureau and account across mandatory/discretionary, grant and budget-status splits. Each account is assigned once. Offsetting receipts, collections and negative adjustments remain in the reconciliation. Account amounts can include transfers; they are not a measure of money received directly by households. FY2026 and later estimates are excluded. History follows the account structure in this database edition; reorganizations can affect comparisons. Treasury’s headline uses a different reporting period.
Running amounts apply a constant historical pace: the reported amount divided by every second in FY2025 · October 1, 2024–September 30, 2025, multiplied by elapsed time in the selected range. They illustrate the flow; they do not track actual transactions today. Week starts Monday and YTD starts January 1, in UTC. Dollar increments show motion, not dollar-level measurement accuracy.
“Reported period” restores the original source amounts. This pace model freezes at 2027-01-01 unless a newer official snapshot is imported. These program snapshots have their own reporting periods and coverage, which differ from the national Treasury budget-function counter.

How these numbers work
SNAP and federal SSI are aligned to July 2026. USDA SNAP cost excludes P-EBT/Other; SSI includes retroactive payments. Program geography differs; absent program coverage is not zero expenditure. Latest complete common month, not current daily transfers. Uniform rates use actual days in that month; expire 2027-01-27. Current SSI release can be newer and is shown separately.
Running amounts apply a constant historical pace: the reported amount divided by every second in July 2026, multiplied by elapsed time in the selected range. They illustrate the flow; they do not track actual transactions today. Week starts Monday and YTD starts January 1, in UTC. Dollar increments show motion, not dollar-level measurement accuracy.
“Reported period” restores the original source amounts. This pace model freezes at 2027-01-27 unless a newer official snapshot is imported. These program snapshots have their own reporting periods and coverage, which differ from the national Treasury budget-function counter.

Spending and debt answer different questions. This page shows spending within one federal budget function. The national debt is the accumulated outstanding balance of federal borrowing, not a sum of these category counters.

Source: U.S. Treasury, Monthly Treasury Statement, Table 9. Retrieved 2026-10-26. Reported total: $694,224,470,394.
Rate = reported amount ÷ 31,536,000 seconds in the reporting period. Estimated ranges apply this historical average to elapsed seconds since midnight today, Monday, the first of the month, or January 1 (UTC). These are modeled totals, not measured weekly, monthly or calendar-year outlays. The reported-period view shows the original published total. Estimates stop 45 days after the reporting period ends. Negative net outlays remain static.
Funds approved by law and actual outlays differ in timing and scope. This page does not claim to show a new congressional appropriation.
